Acoustic Soul: Kameron Corvet

Posted March 28, 2016 by qotsm in Arts & Entertainment

Kameron Corvet is a singer, songwriter, and an acoustic guitarist who released his first indie music project “Sayingthings” in 2006. He has been a fixture in the indie soul music scene both in the U.S. and abroad. In 2012, Kameron appeared as a contestant on the hit show “The Voice” season 3 blind auditions. Since then he’s been on his grind, releasing more projects, including his acclaimed EP, F_ck, Love, and “Darker Than Gray “in 2014.

Kameron CorvetHailing from Cincinnati, Ohio by the way of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Corvet’s brand of rock and soul is derived from his early years growing up in a very talented family. Music is an innate trait that Kameron inherited from his mother’s side of the family. Many of his family members played instruments and sang in church. He was mentored by many of them, so performing was second nature to him. Kameron says “It was interesting because music was always around me”. It was when he was about 9 or 10 years old that he realized music was a big part of his life. Kameron began listening to Alternative R&B on the radio because of the vocal styles, and that was the catalyst for developing his own unique style.

Kameron has written for artists such as Freddie Jackson, Angie Stone, Case, Avery Sunshine and international pop artist Mr. Probz. As a performer, he has traveled the globe with his guitar, opening for Adele, Marsha Ambrosius, Bilal, Dwele, Tamia and a myriad of others. He has been featured on Vibe.com, Centric.com, Concreteloop.com, and Ebony.com as an “artist to watch”. His music earned him a spot on BET Music Matters, and he’s been most recently featured on the latest release from classic hip-hop group Slum Village, which was spotlighted and premiered on Rollingstone.com.
