From the Wheel Chair to Canvas: A Spiritual Journey Through Art.

Posted November 20, 2019 by qotsm in Arts & Entertainment

James Gantt Elcock traveled the world as producer, designer, model, chef, and interior decorator.  After experiencing a horrible accident, he relied on his faith which catapulted a spiritual artistic journey for him. James found new passions and discovered a talent that inspired his self-healing through art, and a creative genius came to light.

This 6’ 4” debonair man was paralyzed from the waist down. James’ misfortune became his reality in 2012 while producing a “Rainbow Push” Conference. James was running around backstage while Lalah Hathaway was performing, and his body went flaccid and he blacked out, causing him to plummet off the stage, only to wake up hospitalized.

At the time of this unfortunate occurrence, the multi-talented James thought his new image ended his freedom because he was told he would never walk again. He was confined to a hospital bed and wheel chair when he started doodling, drawing, and painting for mental and spiritual relief.

During the painful process of rehabilitation, James was determined to take back his independence. He battled the ills of self-defeat and discovered a profound spiritual renewal.

James regained his mobility, took his first steps, and has been expressing his inner thoughts on canvas ever since. His new appreciation of life and spirituality resonates in the beauty of his artwork.

No longer confined to a wheel chair, James embraced his newly found talent. He homed in on the craft of his artistry, launched his new career, and a newfound ministry as a spiritual artist emerged. His art pieces are rich with vibrant, bold colors that incorporate multi- mediums, materials, and even fragrances that allure his audience’s sense of smell. He chose Art by Salbello for his company’s name. The name was given to him personally by a Swazi King, in a renaming ceremony.

Quiet on the Set Magazine proudly celebrates James Elcock’s achievements and presents him as the “Visual Artist of the Month”.
